Pohang is located 210 miles southeast of
Seoul, the capital city of Korea. It is within a thirty minute's
reach north of Kyongju, an ancient city of Shilla Dynasty. Taegu,
the third largest city in Korea and the center of the North
Kyungsang Province, is one hour away to the west. The National
Expressway passes through Taegu and Kyongju. From Kyongju to
Pohang runs an Industrial Expressway to help transport the
products of POSCO and related industries in Pohang.

| Traditional Yangan
House The homes of the Choson Kingdom's yangban
elite were usually whitewashed with brown trim and gray
tile roofs. The yangban, and all commoners, were
not allowed to use the bright tanch'ong decoration
found on palaces and Buddhist temples. The homes of
well-to-do yangban could be large, however, and
often consisted of several different wings and
outbuildings.
