The Derby 2000 visit to the Maker's Mark Distillery.



 
We arrived a day early to Louisville and therefore were able to spend the day visiting the Maker's Mark distillery outside of town. 

 

 

We witnessed the entire process, and started to develop quite a thirst...

 

  

 

Each bottle is hand dipped in their trademarked red wax. Evidently each "dipper" has their own characteristic drip pattern and they can instantly recognize any of their bottles.

 

 

 
 

 

The tour ended, and Brian enjoyed his samples.  Luckily Richard was able to find a wheel chair.
Note to Brian's mother: this is a only dramatization.

 

 
But alas, they really did not serve any samples.....
