We did it again, its now become a tradition!  The greatest two minutes in sports makes for an amazing weekend.  This year Richard Hibbert, Brian McNally, Tom Manderfield, Ron Kedenberg, and myself, David Megee managed to find ourselves in Kentucky again.

For the evening before the Derby we went to Jack Fry's restaurant, where Richard presented everyone with a sterling silver mint julep glasses.
Each of which was engraved with each person's initials and the name of the winning horse for each year that each had attended

For nearly a century, the mint julep has been the traditional beverage of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby. Over 80,000 Mint Juleps are served over the two-day period of the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby, requiring 8,000 quarts of Julep Mix, 150 Bushels of Mint and 60 tons of snow ice.  It could  be suggested that we had our share of that amount.

Despite a rather late night, we
made it to the track.

We took taxis this year, which was a
mistake, we were in line for hours.   Next
year we will make other arrangements.

Some Sunday morning Juleps.

Washing up the Derby glasses.

Flying home from Lexington

I don't know if our stewardess was quite ready for the four of us...
